Gregor the Overlander
When Gregor falls through a grate in the laundry room of his apartment building, he hurtles into the dark Underland, where spiders, rats and cockroaches co-exist uneasily with humans. But Gregor wants no part of it—until he realises it’s the only way to solve the mystery of his father’s disappearance. Reluctantly, Gregor embarks on a dangerous adventure that will change both him and the Underland forever.

The Crimson Moth
On the night Rune’s life changed forever, blood ran in the streets. Now, in the aftermath of a devastating revolution, witches have been diminished from powerful rulers to outcasts ruthlessly hunted due to their waning magic, and Rune must hide what she is.
Spending her days pretending to be nothing more than a vapid young socialite, Rune spends her nights as the Crimson Moth, a witch vigilante who rescues her kind from being purged. When a rescue goes wrong, she decides to throw the witch hunters off her scent and gain the intel she desperately needs by courting the handsome Gideon Sharpe – a notorious and unforgiving witch hunter loyal to the revolution – who she can't help but find herself falling for.
Gideon loathes the decadence and superficiality Rune represents, but when he learns the Crimson Moth has been using Rune’s merchant ships to smuggle renegade witches out of the republic, he inserts himself into her social circles by pretending to court her right back. He soon realizes that beneath her beauty and shallow façade, is someone fiercely intelligent and tender who feels like his perfect match. Except, what if she’s the very villain he’s been hunting?

A gripping story that spans over three years and follows the lives of the wealthy Sinclair family on their private island.
It focuses on four teenagers and a string of lies that has detrimental effects. The story explores themes of power, greed, love, and suspense. ‘We Were Liars,’ takes you on a journey that evokes an array of emotions.
The best part is that it has recently been adapted and released as a tv series.

This is the scariest book I have ever read! I wanted to be freaked out, and I picked up this book with a hunch that it would do just that.
This story begins with young couple on a romantic getaway in a cozy cabin on the cliffs of Pale Peak. With the fireplace roaring, the hot chocolate steaming, and a recent engagement to celebrate, Felix and Faye are excited with the idea of spending some quality time together. But as winter approaches and the snow begins to fall, something outside begins to take an interest in the couple. Things start to go bump in the night, Faye begins to talk in her sleep, and Felix is horrified when he realises that she is talking to someone who is outside the cabin!
If you want to be scared and don’t mind reading with every light on in the house, give this book your attention! I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

A beautifully written debut novel that follows three women who face love and loss while surviving the brutal Japanese occupation of Hong Kong during the second World War.
If quietly powerful and well-researched historical fiction appeals to you, then I highly recommend adding this book to your reading list.

'The Book of the Frog' by Sally Coulthard

Do you like frogs? Have you ever wondered how they can jump so far or communicate with each other? Or perhaps you want to know more about frogs that live in unexpected places such as the Australian desert. The Book of the Frog is a wonderful (nearly pocket sized) book that explores the fantastic life of frogs. It provides easy to read factual information about the many frogs that live on this planet and all the different ways they live. Coulthard also provides some excellent information on how to care for your local frogs and attract them into your garden.
I thoroughly enjoyed this peek into the world of frogs and have a greater appreciation for these curious little creatures.
