What is the Create Space?
Our create space is a collaborative space for making, learning, exploring and tinkering with a variety of resources to support your creative endeavours, including:
- Sewing
- Podcasting
- Video and sound
- Digital design
- Green screen
- Photography and much more!
What equipment or tools are available?
For equipment we have;
- sewing machine
- embroidery machine
- podcasting microphone for podcasting
- cricut machine for paper and vinyl cutting
- green screen wall and ring light for filming videos
- keyboard and guitar for music practice and recording
- digital drawing pad for digital design
There’s great software too, including;
- Krita for drawing and digital design
- GIMP for image editing
- DaVinci Resolve for video editing
- Audacity for audio editing
- OBS Studio for video recording and livestreaming
- Embroidery Tool Shed for embroidery design
How do I book the space? How long?
Please see Library staff to book the space. The Create Space is currently only bookable for two-hour periods, similar to other study rooms in the library.
When you book, library staff will provide you a key to access the Create Space equipment which also includes the password for you to use the Create Space computer.
Can library staff help me?
Library staff are not trained in the use of all the equipment provided. It is a condition that anyone using the space should have basic proficiency in the equipment they are using. You can read more about our Conditions for Create Space here!
Is there a cost?
Library members can use the Create Space for free!
