Home Library Service
Home Library Service is a free and convenient way for housebound residents and their carers to use library services.
How does it work?
We will select for you according to your preferences. You can change your preferences at any time. Library staff will deliver directly to your home every three weeks or you can arrange for someone to collect for you at any branch.
You can borrow anything from our extensive collection, including:
- books including large print & best sellers
- audio books on disc & download
- music on disc
- movies DVD & BluRay
- magazines & eMagazines
Am I eligibile?
The home library service is available to people living in Shellharbour City who are temporarily or permanently housebound due to:
- frail age
- physical or sensory impairment
- illness or injury
- limited mobility
- carer responsibilities
If you think you may be eligible, call us to talk about it!
If you can visit the library, but are unable to carry your loans home, you may be eligible for our self select home delivery service. We also deliver to aged care facilities.
Daisy audio book player
Have you ever thought about test trialing a Daisy audio book player? These players were created especially for people who are blind or have low vision. They are designed to play back audio books and are very easy to navigate and access because they are produced using a format called “DAISY”. Key features:
- less buttons to make this player easier to use
- USB port for downloading eBooks
- plays both DAISY and CDs
These are only available to borrow from the library on a temporary basis. You can purchase your own Daisy audio book player from Vision Australia.
