When you visit the library, things will be a little different:

• You will need use our COVID-Safe check-in each time you enter the library.
• Please make sure you have your library card with you.
• Our staff are happy to help - but it will be from 1.5m!
• We ask that you use hand sanitiser as you enter the library and before using a loan kiosk or computer.
• You’ll need to maintain a 1.5m distance with other customers as you enjoy the library.
• There is a protector screen at our help desks for the safety of our customers and staff.
• We’re not providing physical copies of newspapers. Instead, you can access our Newsbank service for digital newspapers.

The data that is collected when you enter the library is for the sole purpose of COVID-19 contact tracing by NSW Health.

There are a range of measures in place to keep customers safe in our libraries. These include customer limits, cleaning regimes, hand hygiene and physical distancing measures.

You can use the library catalogue from home and your library membership to put items on hold if you only want to make a quick visit. We will notify you as they become available.

If you are unable to visit the library for reasons of health or mobility, you may be eligible to join our Home Library Service. Please call 4221 6222 or email libraryenquiries@shellharbour.nsw.gov.au for more information.
The health and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our top priority. We have a number measures in place: libraries are cleaned daily; library items are wiped or quarantined before being returned to the shelves; protective screens are in place at our help desks; high-touch surfaces are cleaned regularly; staff are wearing gloves to return items and we are emphasising the importance of hand hygiene for staff and customers. And, of course, physical distancing of 1.5m will apply throughout our libraries.
You can return items at City Library, Warilla Library, Albion Park Library, Oak Flats Library and Shellharbour Village Library during opening hours. For added convenience, Warilla Library, Oak Flats Library and City Library have return chutes available 24/7, so you can choose to return any time of day. We don’t have overdue fines, so even if you’ve been unable to visit the library recently, you can return them guilt-free and no fines will apply!
Yes! You can collect your holds during library opening hours. Remember to bring your library card!

You can book a computer for a 1-hour session at City Library, Warilla Library, Oak Flats Library or Albion Park Library. To support safe distancing, we have fewer computers on offer and staff assistance can only be provided from 1.5m. Printing is available for one person at a time.
Our meeting and study rooms have 2-hour maximum bookings and strict person limits in place. There are two meeting rooms available at our City Library and two at our Warilla Library. If you would like to use a room to meet or study, please book with the library staff or call 4221 6222.
You can use the library photocopier to print, scan or copy. Please note that staff assistance can only be provided from 1.5m. Only one person can use the copier/printer at a time.
No. We don’t have overdue fines, so even if you’ve been unable to visit the library recently, you can return them guilt-free and no fines will apply!
You can borrow 20 items per library member card for a 3-week loan. We have a further 3-week courtesy renewal in place if the item has not been requested by another customer.
Yes – you need to bring your library membership card to borrow. Alternatively, you can download the Stocard app to store your library card on your phone. This will allow you to use your phone to borrow your items.
Yes, no one is too young to join the library – and we even have special library cards just for children!
If you have health or mobility issues that prevent you visiting the library, we have a Home Library Service that provides regular deliveries to your home or aged care institution. If you, or a family member require Home Library Service please call 4221 6222.
Yes, you can make suggestions for purchase for items we don’t hold in our collection. Please check our catalogue to see what we already have, as we are purchasing new release items all the time. Then go to our Item Request Form.
