City Library, Albion Park Library and Warilla Library are open for limited services. Warilla Library and Albion Park Library are open 10am–5pm Monday to Friday and 9am-12pm Saturday. City Library is open 9:30am-5pm Monday to Friday and 9am-12pm Saturday.

Current services include borrowing and returning of items, picking up holds, printing and copying. There are 1-hour PC bookings available. Two meeting rooms at City Library and Warilla Library are available for 1-hour bookings only.

We have customer limits and safe distancing measures in place and ask you to keep your visits short. Please check the library website or social media regularly for the latest service updates. Library Locations.
When you visit the library, things will be a little different. Our team won’t be able to work as closely alongside you as we used to, but we’d like you to know that we’ve missed you and we’re still here to help.

Please be patient with the new processes in place to help keep everyone safe.

Here’s what you need to know:
· If you feel unwell, please stay at home. Our eLibrary is available for you to use 24/7.
· Not all of our libraries are going to open at the same time. Please check our website for the latest opening hours.
· Libraries are open for limited services at this time.
· Please bring your library card with you when you visit.
· You may have to wait. We need to restrict the number of people within library spaces at any one time and we’ll be asking you to keep your visits short to assist with that.
· We’ll have hand sanitiser available that we ask you to use as you enter the library or before you use a loan kiosk or computer.
· You’ll need to maintain a 1.5m distance with other people, including our staff as you enjoy the library.
· There will be a protector screen at our help desks for the safety of our customers and staff.
· We don’t have physical copies of newspapers at the moment. You can access our Newsbank service for digital newspapers.
· Library programs and social groups remain suspended. Please visit our Library At Home website to find a range of online programs.
Shellharbour City Libraries - Conditions of Entry

We thank you for your cooperation and ask that you:
• Understand that current services are limited to
- Borrowing, returning and hold pick-ups
- PC bookings (1-hour limit)
- Meeting room (1-hour limit)
- Printing and copying
• Provide your name and contact details on entry for contact tracing, if required
• Do not enter if you’re feeling unwell, or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms
• Respect our customer limits and wait patiently to enter
• Maintain a safe distance of 1.5m from others during your visit
• Practise good hand hygiene and use the hand sanitiser
• Keep your visit short
• Have your library card with you to borrow
• Do not move the location of tables and chairs, or other furniture
• Understand that staff will provide help from 1.5m
• Be respectful to staff and other library users at all times
This is to enable effective contact tracing, if required. This information will only be used for that purpose, will be held securely and will be deleted after 28 days.
For now, Oak Flats Library will remain closed due to the upcoming refurbishment. Shellharbour Village Library will remain closed due to safe distancing measures. We warmly welcome you to visit our other libraries in the meantime and look forward to seeing you there!
Yes. Please use our online reservation and holds service to plan your borrowing and help make your visits short. You can use the library catalogue from home and your library membership to put items on hold. We will notify you as they become available. You will be able to collect your items from City Library, Warilla Library or Albion Park Library only.

We are also offering a Quick Picks service. Library staff will have pre-selected bags of items for you to pick up if you are unable to use the holds service. Why not enjoy a surprise pack!
There are a range of measures in place to keep customers safe in our libraries. These include customer limits, cleaning regimes, hand hygiene and safe distancing measures. If you are unable to visit the library for reasons of health or mobility, you may be eligible to join our Home Library Service. Please call 4221 6222 or email for more information.
You can return items at Albion Park Library, City Library and Warilla Library during opening hours. For added convenience, Warilla Library and City Library have after-hours return chutes available, so you can choose to return any time of day. We don’t have overdue fines, so even if you’ve had items out for a long time during the lockdown period, you can return them guilt-free and no fines will apply!
Yes! You can collect your holds during our new operating hours. Remember to bring your library card so you borrow your items quickly and easily. For customers of Oak Flats Library and Shellharbour Village Library, your holds will be made available at your choice of City Library, Warilla Library or Albion Park Library. Please call 4221 6222 if you need assistance with your reservation requests.
To ensure we follow social distancing requirements there will be no face-to-face library programs or social groups at this time. We will re-introduce library programs when it is safe to do so.

You can continue to enjoy an array of online library programs for all ages by visiting our Library At Home website.
Storytime and our other early literacy programs remain suspended until further notice. However, we encourage you to continue to access our Story Box Library as part of our Library At Home and enjoy the amazing range of activities on offer. New storytimes will continue to be added weekly.
If we joined you up as a member while our libraries were closed you can drop in and pick up your membership card from our City Library during our opening hours.. You just need to show your ID so we can verify your membership, and you’re all set!
There is limited access to meeting rooms and study rooms with 1-hour limits and strict person limits in place. There are two meeting rooms available at our City Library and two at our Warilla Library. If you would like to use a room to meet or study, please book with the library staff or call 4221 6222.
You can book a computer for a 1-hour session at City Library, Warilla Library or Albion Park Library. To support safe distancing, we have fewer computers on offer and staff assistance can only be provided from 1.5m. Printing is available for one person at a time.
You can use the library photocopier to print, scan or copy. Please note that staff assistance can only be provided from 1.5m. Only one person can use the copier/printer at a time.
Yes, the wi-fi is still on for you to access during your visit, but we are asking you to keep your visits short while we maintain limited customer numbers in our libraries. You may book a meeting room at Warilla Library or City Library. This will enable you to use the wi-fi for a 1-hour period.
The health and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our top priority. We have a number measures in place: libraries are cleaned daily; library items are wiped or quarantined before being returned to the shelves; protective screens are in place at our help desks; high-touch surfaces are cleaned regularly; staff are wearing gloves to return items and we are emphasising the importance of hand hygiene for staff and customers. And, of course, physical distancing of 1.5m will apply throughout our libraries.

Please do not remain in the library any longer than you need to as we have customer limits in place. Please return your items, make your selections, check out your items and make your visits as short as you can. Remember to bring your library card!

No. Our library doesn’t have fines for overdue library items, so even if you’ve had items out for a long time during the lockdown period, you can return them guilt-free and no fines will apply!
You can borrow 20 items per library member card for a 3-week loan. We have a further 3-week courtesy renewal in place if the item has not been requested by another customer.
Yes – you need to bring your library membership card to borrow. Alternatively, you can use the Stocard app to store your library card on your phone. This will allow you to use your phone to borrow your items.
Yes, no one is too young to join the library – and we even have special library cards just for children!
If you have health or mobility issues that prevent you visiting the library, we have a Home Library Service that provides regular deliveries to your home or aged care institution. If you, or a family member require Home Library Service please call 4221 6222.
Yes, you can make suggestions for purchase for items we don’t hold in our collection. Please check our catalogue to see what we already have, as we are purchasing new release items all the time. Then go to our Item Request Form.

Physical newspapers are not being made available in our libraries at the moment. You can read digital versions of the news and search for articles by visiting our Newsbank subscription service.
Yes. The Civic Square Café is open and welcomes our library customers to visit! Hours are 7.30am-2.30pm, 7 days a week.
We cannot offer group visits or tours to our libraries or museum at this time. Please check the library website or social media for service updates.
