Book Clubs TEST
Book Clubs are a great way to connect with other book lovers, discover new authors and chat about your favourite moments and characters in the book you are reading.
Our libraries facilitate a number of in-house Book Clubs across our different library locations. Our clubs are assisted by a library staff member and meet monthly. We have a maximum of 10 people per group.

Independent Book Clubs
Want to start your own book club? We can help you!
We have up to 100 Shellharbour Reads Book Club kits you can access for your group. Each kit contains 10 copies of a title and may include titles in various formats such as DVD, audiobook or large print.
Our kits also contain information about the author and discussion notes to help get the conversation started. Any member of our library can register a book club to gain access to the book club kits.
The person who has registered the book club becomes the Coordinator. You will be our contact that provides us with a list of your members and coordinates your Book Club’s borrowing.
Each member of your Book Club must be a current member of Shellharbour City Libraries to participate. If you or anyone in your club isn’t a library member you can join online for free today!
If you’re already a library member, simply complete the registration form to register your book club.
We don’t place reservations on book club kits. Please choose from titles available now and contact the library so we can set it aside for you. You have 5 days to collect.
Kits can be borrowed for six weeks only and cannot be renewed.
Yes. A maximum of two kits can be loaned to a club at any one time. This works well for moving from one title to the next.
As the Book Club Coordinator, we ask you contact the library one week before collecting the kit. We suggest you provide library staff with three book club titles.
Library staff will set aside your kit and have it ready for collection at your nominated library.
We will issue a copy to each of your members and include a printed slip with details so you can distribute the items to your members. All remaining items in the kit remain your responsibility as the Book Club Coordinator.
As the Coordinator, we ask you to return the full kit including all copies of the book and any additional large print, audio books, DVDs and discussion sheet.
If a book club member is absent from the meeting, they are responsible for the prompt return of the title to any of our libraries.
We ask that you as the Coordinator notify library staff of any loss or damage. Each member is responsible for the cost of any lost or damaged item.
