Membership

 

 How can I join the library? 

You can join the library in-person or online. There are two types of library membership for you to choose from. 

 

Full membership

This entitles you to borrow from any branch of Shellharbour City Libraries and gives you full access 24/7 to eLibrary services.

All you need is formal identification including your name and residential address. For example;

  • a current NSW Driver's Licence or NSW Photo Card
  • a current health care card (Social Security)
  • a current pension card
  • Shellharbour City Council rates notice

 

eLibrary only membership

This membership is designed for people-on-the-go who only wish to access digital library services including, eBooks, eAudio, eMagazines, eMusic and more

You can upgrade to a full membership at any time. All you need to do is visit one of our branches and bring along current formal identification as listed above.


Can young people join the library?

Yes! Young people under 18 will require a parent/guardian with appropriate identification to accompany them to the library to join. Parental permission is also needed for eLibrary only memberships.


 I don't live in the area, but can I still join the library?

You can join the library in-person or online. There are two types of library membership for you to choose from.


Can an organisation join the library?

Yes! We have a number of local organisations that are library members. These include, pre-schools, childcare services, aged care facilities, etc. Conditions apply for this membership, so please contact your local branch library for more details.
