Can I join the library?

Library membership is free to all residents of the Shellharbour City Local Government area (LGA). Your library membership will give you access to in-library and online services.

 

Can I join the library if I don’t live in the Shellharbour City LGA?

If you’re a resident of NSW and visiting or working in Shellharbour you are welcome to join up in person at any of our libraries (once we re-open) and receive full membership benefits, including access to our online eLibrary service. This is available under the NSW ‘Reciprocal Library Membership’ agreement.

 

Can I become an online only member?

If you’re joining online and seeking online membership only, you need to live in the Shellharbour LGA. This is due to the licensing agreements of online platforms that we provide.

 

What happens next?

After joining online, we will process your membership application next business day (Monday to Friday).

As soon we email you your library card number, you’ll be able to get started. 

The library manages your personal information in accordance with the Information Privacy Act 2000. For more information, see Council’s privacy policy.
